IPmux provides a compact, minimal configuration solution for virtual E1/T1 point-to-point applications, transporting E1/T1 services over IP and Ethernet based networks.
IPmux takes data streams from up to four E1/T1 ports and converts them to packets for transmission over the network. The addressing scheme of these frames is IP. These frames are transmitted via the IPmux 10/100BaseT port to the network. A second IPmux at the remote location converts the IP packets back to E1/T1 traffic. The overall effect of the IPmux is to allow transparent E1/T1 connectivity over the new generation of switch based packet networks, both in the carrier and the corporate environments.
Features:
Transports E1/T1 TDM services and circuits over IP networks
Totally transparent to all signaling protocols running over E1/T1
Multiplexes up to four E1/T1 circuits over an IP transport layer
10/100BaseT uplink to network
End to end delay starting from 1 ms
Supports transport of both transparent E1 and fractional E1/T1
Support for adaptive clock regeneration mode
Supports packet delay variation up to 32 ms for E1 and 24 ms for T1
